Welcome. The Bursledon Art Society was formed 40 years ago and began with a small art exhibition at the 1984 Bursledon Summer Regatta. From this successful art show an annual exhibition was born to showcase the work of the many talented artists throughout this region. It has proven to be an ever growing mix of ecclectic artwork, craft and sculpture.
Back for our big 40th year anniversary, this year's art show will take place over the weekend of 23rd and 24th November 2024, 10am - 4pm daily. Once again we will show exciting works from local and invited artists. Read more on our exhibitions page and visit our gallery page to see photos taken during the previous shows. If you'd like to be invited to the 2024 private view on Friday 22nd November, please get in touch.
Bursledon Art Society was formed 40 years ago; the original committee members, Tom Richardson, Wendy Jelbert, Felix Neville-Toule and Bill Fanner, organised a painting exhibition during the Bursledon Regatta at the Elephant Boatyard. It was such a success and attracted so many local artists that the idea of having a larger, annual exhibition was born.
Now that Felix and Bill are no longer with us, Rosalind Jelbert-Ingram has now joined us making it such a wonderfully successful annual Winter event. It is a focal point for invited and local artists and crafters, to show off their talents in painting, pottery, jewellery and sculpture. If you would like to exhibit, please get in touch.
The 2024 Winter art show, will be held at Bursledon Village Hall, Long Lane, Bursledon, Southampton, Hampshire SO31 8BZ and we are excited to have some talented new artists on board showing their work alongside our ever popular revisiting artists. There will be live demonstrations over the weekend and we have our popular charity art raffle with proceeds going to Macmillan Nurses. The show will run on the 23rd and 24th November 2024, 10am to 4pm. Dogs are welcome.
Our artists cover all mediums including oils, watercolours, acrylics and pencil in a variety of exciting styles. We also exhibit sculpure and craftwork including jewellery, pottery and glasswork at our Winter art show held in November each year. Read more about our artists here >>
