Welcome. The Bursledon Art Society was formed over 30 years ago and began with a small art exhibition at the 1986 Bursledon Summer Regatta. From this successful art show an annual exhibition was born to showcase the work of the many talented artists throughout this region. It has proven to be an ever growing mix of ecclectic artwork, craft and sculpture.
Following the cancellation of the 2020 WINTER ART SHOW due to Covid-19, we are hoping to go ahead with our 2021 show on November 27th and 28th. We look forward to welcoming back our talented artists and loyal visitors this year. If you are an artist interested in taking part please get in touch.
Bursledon Art Society was formed over 30 years ago; the original committee members, Tom Richardson, Wendy Jelbert, Felix Neville-Toule and Bill Fanner, organised a painting exhibition during the Bursledon Regatta at the Elephant Boatyard. It was such a success and attracted so many local artists that the idea of having a larger, annual exhibition was born.
Now that Felix and Bill are no longer with us, Rosalind Jelbert-Ingram and Kirstin White have now joined us making it such a wonderfully successful annual Winter event. It is a focal point for invited and local artists and crafters, to show off their talents in painting, pottery, jewellery and sculpture. If you would like to exhibit, please get in touch.
The 2019 Winter art show, was held at Bursledon Village Hall, Long Lane, Bursledon, Southampton, Hampshire SO31 8BZ, on 23rd and 24th November. We were excited to have some talented new artists on board showing their work alongside our ever popular revisiting artists. There was live demonstrations by Kirstin White and Wendy Jelbert over the weekend and we ran our popular charity art raffle with the chance to win an original Wendy Jelbert painting or four art lessons by Kirstin White. Proceeds of £140 were donated to Macmillan Nurses. If you would like to receive an invitation to our private view for the 2021 art show (date to be confirmed) please get in touch.
Our artists cover all mediums including oils, watercolours, acrylics and pencil in a variety of exciting styles. We also exhibit sculpure and craftwork including jewellery, pottery and glasswork at our Winter art show held in November each year. Read more about our artists here >>
